
Right, so we have always had an interest in how we can code algorithms all in an effort to count a block of words and derive their frequency, or “word frequency”. This curiosity has led to the creation of several publicly available programs which can be used in the research or word frequency or word counts.
Hopefully you have not been out there manually counting words in text or perhaps paying an inordinate amount of money on comparable tools and services to do this same seemingly simple task. Heck, maybe you are one of the people who plop your text into some website and send them all of your information for processing. We on the other hand dont honestly care how or what your need may be to tally frequency or counts of words. Our honest desire is to emulate (in some odd fashion) how your standard search engine would render meaning from a block of text. Or how to teach a program to read and cache text for later consumption and processing (knind of like AI but not really because the data is gong once your close the application.
In essence, we have only grazed the surface in word frequency and word count logic. The opportunity and options are limitless:
